Include “DoughMaker,” your app version, device model, iOS version, and a description of what happened. Screenshots can help; remove personal information before sending them.
Getting started
- Choose a preloaded recipe, tap Create, or scan a paper recipe.
- Review the title, ingredients, instructions, and notes. New recipes include common bread ingredients that you can edit or delete.
- Use plus and minus to adjust amounts, or tap an amount to type it. Tap Done to close the keyboard.
- Open a recipe to start a step timer, add notes, or save a finished-bake photo.
Scanning a recipe
Allow camera access to scan a printed recipe, or import a photo. Use a clear, well-lit image and review the recognized text before saving. Fractions, handwriting, and unusual layouts may need manual corrections. Camera scanning requires a supported physical device.
Making a variation
Open a recipe and choose Duplicate. Edit the copy’s name, ingredients, notes, or instructions. The copy starts without finished-bake photos or running timers.
Timers while the device is locked
Start a timer from a recipe step. DoughMaker saves its end time and can send a local notification when it finishes, including while the device is locked. Allow notifications in iOS Settings; Focus and notification settings can affect alerts. Reopen the app to see the remaining time.
Keeping the screen awake
Turn on the recipe’s keep-screen-awake option while baking. It keeps the recipe visible while that screen is open. Keeping the display on uses more battery. Locking the device yourself still locks it.
Notes and bake photos
Use Notes for who shared the recipe, special instructions, or changes you want to try. Add a finished-bake photo from your library. Removing an attached photo does not delete the original from your photo library.
Sharing as PDF or Word
Open a recipe’s Share menu and choose PDF or Word. Select where to save or send the file using the iOS share sheet. Exports include ingredients, instructions, and notes; bake photos are not included.
Where are my recipes stored?
Recipes, notes, bake photos, and timer data are stored on this device. There is no account or recipe sync between devices. Export important recipes before removing the app.
Do I need internet?
Recipe editing, text recognition, timers, and export generation work on your device. Emailing support or sharing through online services may require internet.
